Page numberer Ready

— Never uploaded

Numbers are stamped in your tab. The document stays on your device the whole time.

— Your style

Plain numbers, "1 / N", or "Page 1 of N" — in the corner or centre, top or bottom.

— Start anywhere

Skip a cover page or continue a sequence by choosing the starting number.

Add page numbers without uploading your document

Numbering matters for contracts, reports, and anything printed and collated. This tool uses pdf-lib to draw a number onto each page in the position and format you choose, entirely inside your browser tab. The file is never uploaded, so even confidential documents stay on your device.

Common choices

Need to rearrange pages first? Use Reorder Pages. Combining files before numbering? Merge PDF first, then number the result.

Frequently asked

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Page numbers are stamped by pdf-lib inside your browser tab. The file never leaves your device, and it works with Wi-Fi off after the page loads.

Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?

Yes. Set a starting number — useful when a cover page shouldn't count, or when the document continues from another.

Where do the numbers go?

You choose: bottom or top, and left, centre, or right. Bottom-centre and bottom-right are the most common.

Can I number an encrypted PDF?

Only if it has no open password. Remove the password first, then add numbers.
